Socks come in all shapes and sizes. Colors and design. There seems to be no limit to the number of different selections available but one thing is they have in common is the different parts.
- cuff
- leg
- heekl
- heel flap
- heel turn
- foot
- sole
- toe
The Cuff is the opening at the top. It clings a little tighter to the leg to prevent slippage.
The Leg is the tube.
The Heel, Heel Flap, and Heel Turn are parts that provide support around the ball of the foot.
The Foot fits across the top of the foot
The Sole is the part we walk on, the underside of the sock
The Toe usually has a seam that fits across the toes.
Not all socks are made with all the above features but all socks have a starting point and ending point. All socks have a toe and a cuff no matter how long or short. There are socks made for all lifestyles and preferences.
